Mayor has new gig
Chico Mayor Andy Holcombe has announced he is out of the private law business as of Sept. 30 and now doing legal advocacy for people with disabilities.
Holcombe (pictured) said he has taken a job with the statewide Office of Clients’ Rights Advocacy, a branch of the nonprofit Protection and Advocacy Inc., which contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to help the disabled.
Holcombe, whose specialty has been landlord-tenant law, said he liked practicing law but not managing an office, especially with so much of his time being taken up with mayoral duties. He said he’s looking forward to his new job, which will cover the entire North State region to the Oregon border.
