Perhaps unsurprisingly, following the contentious 2016 presidential election, a record number of Americans reported feeling that the nation is divided. According to a new Gallup poll, 77 percent of respondents perceive the U.S. as greatly divided on the “most important values.” That’s an increase of 8 percentage points from the last high recorded in 2012. As to whether President-elect Donald Trump will be able to unite the nation, more respondents believe the billionaire will further divide the country. Here’s a breakdown of the results:
