SLEEP IN STYLE
The Goodman House is an elegant bed and breakfast located on The Esplanade.

With all the recreation, entertainment and shopping options available to Chico visitors, getting a good night’s sleep is very important. If you’re a student, your friends can stay on your couch, but most parents prefer a clean and comfortable room. Fortunately, Chico has a wide array of options, ranging from the posh Hotel Diamond in the heart of downtown to the rural Johnson’s Country Inn. Fit for any taste or budget, Chico’s lodging is as varied as the people who call the town home. There are affordable motels, familiar chains and charming bed and breakfasts, but they all have one thing in common—Chico hospitality!

If you’re rolling into town without a place to stay, there are several motels and hotels visible and easily accessible from Highway 99. If you prefer being in the heart of Chico or close to the university, you can stay at one of the six downtown establishments. If more peaceful environs are what you seek, you might try one of the B&Bs tucked into quaint Chico neighborhoods or on the outskirts of town.

Reservations are highly recommended, especially for holidays and popular weekends, such as Memorial Day, Labor Day and, of course, university graduation. If you don’t already have reservations for graduation weekend, your kid’s couch might not sound too bad when compared to driving for half an hour or more to the next town. If your student is graduating in 2007, you may want to secure accommodations as much as a year in advance.
