It also took second-place honors in the Public Service and Arts & Entertainment Coverage categories, as well as several honorable mentions.
Local award winners also included the Chico Enterprise-Record, which earned top honors in four writing categories for dailies with circulations between 15,000 and 50,000, including Breaking News, Feature Story, Editorial Comment and Sports Feature Story.
The CN&R, E-R and Chico State’s student newspaper, The Orion, took home honorable mentions for General Excellence.
