Local author dies
Neal Wiegman passes away at the age of 69
Neal Wiegman, retired college Spanish instructor, author of four books, contributor to the CN&R, and husband to Nancy Wiegman, host of KCHO’s Nancy’s Bookshelf, died Dec. 25 at the age of 69.
Over the past two years, Neal Wiegman (pictured) transcribed 31 of his wife’s radio interviews with local, regional and national authors and compiled them into a book published last year titled Nancy’s Bookshelf: Conversations with Writers.
He told this paper during an interview in the couple’s home last year with former CN&R Editor Robert Speer that he took on the grueling job because, “I wanted to honor Nancy as a radio host.”
The Wiegmans were married for 45 years.
