Life goes on
Frustration, devastation and the continuing reality of Katrina’s wrath
A month and a half after Hurricane Katrina devastated America’s Gulf Coast, we present stories of survival and service in that region with a Chico connection. While Katrina’s assault fade from the headlines, the people in that part of the country continue to deal with the terrible storm’s aftermath, digging out of the rubble, dealing with untold damage and trying to plan a future when the present seems so bleak.
As we here in Northern California get on with our day-to-day lives, we’d do well to keep in our minds and our hearts the people still reeling from the vast destruction Katrina wrought.
