Library director checks out
Wolfgram tells the county he’s headed to Santa Clara
One bit of news that leaked out during the Butte County Board of Supervisors’ big budget meeting Tuesday (March 24) was that Library Director Derek Wolfgram was resigning. That led to speculation that perhaps the county could save some money by leaving his position unfilled.
Wolfgram responded that, with only two people employed in the system’s county-wide administration, he didn’t think operating without a director was feasible.
After the meeting Wolfgram, who became director in December 2006, told the CN&R that he’d taken a job as deputy director of the huge (and well-funded) Santa Clara County Library system. “It was just too good an opportunity to pass up,” he said, adding that he intended to stay on with Butte County until after the county’s crucial May budget hearings.
