Last chance to register
Deadline looming for June primary voters
The June 3 primary election is quickly approaching, and the last day to register to vote is Monday, May 19. Those who are currently registered but have moved to a new address or had a name change must re-register.
Registration is available online at http://ButteVotes.net or forms can be picked up at libraries, post offices and at the Butte County Elections Office at 25 County Center Drive in Oroville. Candace Grubbs (pictured), the county clerk-recorder, is quoted in a press release urging people to take action.
“If you have not yet registered to vote in next month’s primary election,” she says, “it’s time to make it happen.” Grubbs is running for re-election against Pamela Teeter, who works for the nonprofit Youth for Change in Paradise and is married to District 5 Supervisor Doug Teeter.
