Lambert booted from commission
Supervisors remove 30-year volunteer without comment
On Tuesday (Jan. 6), almost 30 years to the day after Jane Dolan, in her first official act as a Butte County supervisor, appointed Nina Lambert to the county Planning Commission, she and her fellow supervisors quietly removed her from office.
Dolan’s short letter to the board requesting that the position be declared vacant and Lambert removed was part of the consent agenda and as such passed unanimously without comment. The letter noted that Lambert had not resigned. Nothing was said about her 30 years of volunteer service to the county.
The day before, Dolan told the CN&R that her only comment about the matter was that she felt it was time for a change. She will nominate a new commissioner after the opening has been advertised publicly.
Contacted by phone, Lambert told the CN&R she didn’t know why she was being removed and hadn’t talked with Dolan about it.
