Basic tips to help reduce the risk of heart disease
February may be better known for hearts of the candy variety, but it’s also officially American Heart Month. The American Heart Association offers these five tips to avoid cardiovascular disease, which remains the biggest killer in the United States.
• Quit smoking and help others quit
• Know your numbers (blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar)
• Exercise regularly
• Manage stress
• Sleep well
