Invigorating rhythms …

The music category-defying Boulder, Colo. band The Motet (pictured) returns to the stage at LaSalles, at 229 Broadway, in downtown Chico. Drummer Dave Watts, percussionist Scott Messersmith, vocalist Jans Ingber, guitarist Mike Tieman, keyboardist Greg Raymond, and recently recruited bassist Paul McDaniel each bring an expertise from a vast spectrum of musical styles and backgrounds, from New Orleans jazz to Chicago blues, from West African to Cuban sounds, funk to rock.
