A recent poll shows Americans want change
A recent Zogby poll tested the waters in regard to immigration reform. The survey, which asked questions of more than 2,000 registered voters, found overwhelmingly that Americans support reform of immigration laws. Below are some of the results.
60% believe that U.S. law should protect the basic human rights of illegal aliens
72% want major immigration reform
61% say the U.S. should toughen immigration laws
31% believe we should create a path to citizenship for illegals
71% support guest-worker programs with permits on length of stay
49% consider illegal aliens who live and work in the U.S. a burden
16% say they are a benefit
21% think Obama is doing well in handling the issue
