I’d like to thank the staff of the thrift store for my newly acquired typewriter. It’s a manual job from the 1950s, complete with case and in beautiful condition. Best of all was the price:
nothing—it was in the Dumpster. On the shelves inside the store were the items that were deemed sellable, including a suitcase with the handle and wheels broken off (price: $8) and a software box (no software inside) for $2.99. But a perfectly-functioning antique typewriter was Dumpsterized. Maybe they figured it was broken, since it had no cord!
