I witness

Have you seen the falling-down lady? I’ve seen her fall down at Costco, a City Council meeting and, the other day, right before my eyes. She moved so well it seemed as if she didn’t need the walker. I told her how good she looked, but just as the words had passed my lips, down she went. It was a slow and elegant descent. She even handed me her unfinished lunch on the way down. She refused help as a crowd gathered. Then slowly she pulled herself to her feet, grabbed her half-eaten sandwich and walked away with a spring in her step and a smile on her face.
