I barged into the bar and cut in behind you and ordered a beer like a gal who was ready to do some drinking time.

You had your back turned to me, but then you turned around, and with a boyish grin you shyly whispered, “Hi.”

Then you turned your back on me.

“Hey,” I thought, “I know that guy. He’s one of the editors of that long-running, successful, alternative newspaper that I have been reading for the last 20 years.” And I don’t even live in Butte County.

How’s that for a loyal fan!
