Honey oil lab busted
Potentially explosive lab found in residential neighborhood, near school
Firefighters discovered a honey oil lab in a trailer home within a block of Bidwell Junior High when they responded to a fire early on the morning of Dec. 20.
The owner of the home on Geneva Lane, 44-year-old Alan Moon, allegedly admitted to making butane honey oil, a potent form of hash that’s extracted from marijuana by using butane. Firefighters determined that the fire was started by a “candle Moon lit inside the trailer, and not the lab itself,” according to a Chico Police Department press release.
Police and agents from the Butte County Interagency Narcotics Task Force collected evidence and released Moon at the scene, pending charges requested by Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey.
