Based on the real-life murder of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming, Moisés Kaufman’s powerful play The Laramie Project is staged in Wismer Theater on the Chico State campus. Directed by Gail Holbrook, the story follows different Laramie residents and their reactions in the wake of the gay man’s murder. Pictured: The characters in the Chico State production each respond differently to a more conservative viewpoint of the crime (left-to-right, actors Julia Dalton, Steve Remund, Brent White, Turiya Dawn, and Patty Venable).
