Holy wasted energy, Batman!
Hollywood director Christopher Nolan was in hot water with environmentalists last week over the filming of the latest saga in the Batman serial titled The Dark Night.
According to the Associated Press, producers of the movie asked that buildings in a Hong Kong waterfront, where part of the picture is being filmed, leave their lights on after close to magnify the city’s skyline. Conservationists from Green Sense lambasted the filmmakers for wasting energy, saying they could use special effects to create the same look.
The city is already struggling with air pollution, noted critics from the organization, who told the newspaper it appeared the environment was taking a back seat to the movie.
