Hog for a hoedown …
Farm Sanctuary, a shelter for farm animals just west of Orland, hosts a two day gathering for animal lovers and activists this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 2 & 3. Called the “Country Hoe Down” conference, the event offers participants the opportunity to meet and interact with over 700 rescued cows, turkeys and other friendly farm animals, like the attention-loving pig pictured here. Also, the hoe down includes tours, hayrides, workshops, lectures and more. Free and open to the public, 1-6 p.m., Saturday, June 2. For more information and directions: (530) 865-4617.
