Hen finds new home
Farm Sanctuary rescues wayward chicken
Farm Sanctuary in Orland has a new female resident.
The 300-acre animal rescue organization welcomed Wendy the chicken (pictured) to the facility last week. According to the farm, the bird appeared in the yard of the Mecham family in the Sacramento suburb of Carmichael.
With nobody able to locate the hen’s owner, the sanctuary agreed to give her a home.
Wendy joins the more than 350 other animals that have been given a second chance at life at the Glenn County facility. Farm Sanctuary is open to visitors from May through October.
