Helping hands in Bidwell Park
CCC helps maintain park habitat
Park lovers may notice a crew of young people trimming vegetation along trails and roads in Lower Bidwell Park, and removing invasive Spanish broom in Upper Bidwell Park, thanks to a new partnership between the city of Chico Park Division and the local California Conservation Corps.
The CCC received a grant that allows them to form a crew to help with park projects once or twice a month for a week at a time over the next several months. The crew will also train with Chico’s park and fire department staff on a controlled burn to eliminate weeds.
