Help the homeless
Volunteers sought for homeless survey
Volunteers are needed for the homeless census conducted every other January by the Butte Countywide Homeless Continuum of Care.
This year, the point-in-time survey, which will be conducted at sheltered and unsheltered locations throughout the county, is set for Wednesday (Jan. 28). Participants will collect basic demographic information as well as length of homelessness, family size, health issues, veteran status, education level, employment history, causes of homelessness and barriers to housing. The results of the survey will be compiled into a report that will be released in June.
Volunteer trainings will be held in Chico, Paradise, Oroville and Gridley leading up to the survey. To volunteer or for more information, call Leslie Johnson at 518-9992 or email leslie.aclu@gmail.com.
