Hahn heading out
County chief administrative officer announces retirement
The man most responsible for the day-to-day operations of all Butte County departments and personnel is stepping down in October.
Chief Administrative Officer Paul Hahn (pictured) is retiring from his position, the county announced via press release on April 27.
Hahn has held the job since 2010 and been involved in county government for 29 years, with the bulk of that time spent in Sacramento.
“He has steered the county through some difficult times and kept us afloat,” Supervisor Bill Connelly said in the press release. “Whoever follows him will have some big shoes to fill. He has been a steady influence and he will be missed. We wish him well in his retirement.”
The county has yet to begin recruiting for the opening, Butte County spokeswoman Casey Hatcher said Wednesday (May 3).
