Nickelodeon to air eco-friendly Earth Day shows

Kids television network Nickelodeon is gearing up for Earth Day (April 22) with a lineup of earth-themed programs.
Nick’s eco-conscious offerings include episodes from tween shows iCarly and True Jackson, VP, as well as preschool shows The Wonder Pets!, OLIVIA and Wow!Wow! Wubbzy!
In addition, Nick is unveiling its grant program—The Big Green Help—supporting schools and organizations with sustainable development. The network is shelling out up to $5,000 to groups creating environmental-action projects. Applications are being accepted through Dec. 31 at www.bghevent.com/grant.
Leading up to Earth Day, on April 19, Nick News with Linda Ellerbee will premiere “A Kid Off the Grid.” The special episode explores what it is like to be a kid living in an energy self-sufficient household.
