Judging time for the EPA’s app challenge.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency put out a call to tech whizzes to create the best, most useful app to disseminate EPA data. Well, the submissions are in and now it’s time for the rest of us to get online and vote for a winner. Below are three of our faves, but judge for yourself by logging onto http://appsfortheenvironment.challenge.gov. Voting goes through Oct. 7.
iScrapp App: Find out where the closest recycling centers are to you, what they accept and how much they pay for it.
Outdoor Dashboard: You can likely already check the weather on your phone before you leave the house—with this app, check the status of UV rays as well as air quality.
Green Gumshoe: Aids community reporting on environmental crimes or incidents by linking users with the correct reporting agency.
