Green in 2014
Tips for reducing waste in the New Year
Become less wasteful in 2014—it’s easy. Here are some suggestions for simple eco-friendly New Year’s resolutions:
Don’t buy bottled water: About 1.5 million barrels are used to make plastic water bottles each year. By investing in a filtering pitcher, and pairing it with a reusable bottle, you’ll be saving money, too.
Brew your own coffee: Annually, about 58 billion cardboard cups and carrying sleeves for coffee are thrown away. Rather than going to Starbucks, brew your own coffee at home and carry it in an insulated traveling mug.
Shop with reusable bags: About 1 million plastic bags are thrown away every minute. ‘Nuff said.
