New eco-friendly Bible includes a focus on the environment

A publishing house is producing the most printed book of all time on recycled paper and with vegetable-based inks.

Yes, environmentalist Christians everywhere can now pick up The Green Bible—a new eco-friendly version of the good book released last month by HarperOne.

In addition to being manufactured with sustainability in mind, this Bible highlights passages related to God’s love for creation and humanity’s role as caregivers to the Earth, reported ABC News. The book also contains essays by conservationists and religious figures, including Pope John Paul II.

Evangelical pastor Peter Illyn, who founded Restoring Eden, an environmental stewardship group, told ABC that the new Bible will help people realize that the environment is a biblical issue.
