Goin’ to the dogs

Everybody loves a dog story. At least we hope that’s the case. Because as you can see by this week’s issue, we’ve reached the dog days of summer as far as the paper’s contents are concerned. So, lacking a juicy "Man bites dog" story, we offer the following contemplations on the four-footed creatures that some consider our best friends and others see as useless fleabags who’ve perfected the art of freeloading.
