Getting around
Chico map
Finding your way around a new city can be nerve-wracking. Aside from a few one-way streets downtown and roads that change names (Midway becomes Park becomes Main becomes The Esplanade), Chico isn’t too big to figure out in a short amount of time.
The main arteries through town are Highway 99, which continues north to Red Bluff and south to Sacramento, and Highway 32, which will take you east to Forest Ranch and west to meet up with Interstate 5. Within town, The Esplanade is Chico’s most famous boulevard. It stretches from the north into downtown, where it becomes Main Street (except Main runs north only—Broadway is its southerly counterpart).
So, go out and roam around a little; get lost in Chico’s charm.
