Get ready to vote

Absentee ballots should arrive any day

Butte County residents who are registered to vote by mail will receive their ballot any day now for the Nov. 2 general election.

According to Candace J. Grubbs, county clerk-recorder/registrar, those 60,000 voters should have their ballot by the end of the week. Sample ballots and voter-information booklets are due to arrive at about the same time.

Meanwhile, the deadline to register to vote—Oct. 18—is fast approaching. Election applications are available online (http://clerk-recorder.buttecounty.net). The website also allows residents to check on their voter-registration status, look up their polling place, and browse candidate info, among other things. For more info, call 538-7761.
