General plan countdown

Chico’s updated document goes to a vote Tuesday

The Chico City Council is holding a public meeting Tuesday evening (April 12) to consider certification of an environmental-impact report for the general-plan update and adoption of the Chico 2030 General Plan.

“It is exciting to prepare for the final adoption hearing, the last step in a three-and-a-half-year general-plan-update process that included over 50 public meetings and over 30 council and Planning Commission meetings,” Brendan Vieg, a city of Chico principal planner, said in a press release.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers (421 Main St.) and will include an opportunity for public testimony.
