From Russia with love …

Compositions in a decidedly Slavic key are featured when the North State Symphony and Maestro Kyle Wiley Pickett welcome internationally acclaimed pianist Alexander Tutunov (pictured) next weekend. Currently an instructor at Southern Oregon University and having toured all over the world, Tutunov began his studies at the Moscow Conservancy in Russia at the age of six. With the symphony, Tutunov performs Tchaikovsky‘s Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor. Under the theme Russian Romantics, other featured pieces include Mussorgsky‘s Pictures at an Exhibition and Dvorak‘s Carnival Overture. Advance tickets: $18 adult; $15 senior; and $10 student/child. Add $2 at the door. Box office: 898-6333. Disability related accommodations: 898-4325.
