Flying high again
Chico’s air show, canceled after losing money for two straight years, is back on the aviation radar. At the end of Tuesday’s Chico City Council meeting, Gayle Womack announced Chico AirFest 2008 is a go, set for Sept. 26-27.
The Chico Chamber of Commerce put on the previous air shows, but this one will be produced and underwritten by David Favor of Victor Treatment Centers. Womack asked the city for $10,000—half the allocation made for last year’s Memorial Weekend event—and Councilman Larry Wahl pushed for approval at the June 3 meeting.
