Sheriff agrees to take another look at Foglesong file
Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones has announced he’s reopened the investigation into the mysterious July 2007 death of Ivan “Bud” Foglesong (pictured, with his granddaughter Katheryn). The case was detailed in the CN&R’s Sept. 3 cover story, “An accident or murder?” by Robert Speer.
According to the Sept. 19 issue of the Sacramento Valley Mirror, Det. Greg Felton will head up the investigation, reporting directly to Jones. Retired Chico Police Department Det. Sharon O’Quin will continue to investigate the case.
In addition, Jones said, the forensics evidence related to the flash fire that killed Foglesong will be examined more exhaustively by arson and munitions experts.
Valley Mirror editor and publisher Tim Crews, who in a series of stories has been highly critical of Jones’ handling of the investigation, said he was glad the case was reopened.
