Fill in that driveway

Dan and Ben Allen have some ’dozing to do.

They’re the father-and-son team from San Diego mentioned in an Aug. 30 CN&R Newslines story, “Canyon residents have neighbors fuming,” as having raised the ire of a number of Butte Creek Canyon dwellers by digging out a driveway without a grading permit.

On Tuesday (Sept. 11), the Butte County Board of Supervisors voted, 4-1, to deny them a retroactive grading permit and ordered them to fill in the grading they’d done.

Supervisors were concerned about erosion from the driveway into a duck pond across Centerville Road and didn’t seem to buy the Allens’ argument that they didn’t know they needed a grading permit.
