Fifty pounds of pot
CPD arrests local man on suspicion of illegal marijuana sales

An early-evening patrol of an area just north of Chico State netted a significant pot bust for officers of the Chico Police Department’s TARGET team.
The officers were patrolling apartments on the 1200 block of West Sacramento Avenue when they spotted a truck being driven suspiciously through various complexes. They noticed a strong odor of marijuana after pulling over the vehicle, driven by Nathaniel Paul Oeding, and found 50 pounds (pictured) of the processed herb during a subsequent search.
They also found more than $4,000 in cash, along with other evidence that the marijuana was packaged for illegal sales. CPD estimates the street value of the pot at between $125,000 and $200,000.
Oeding, 30, of Chico, was arrested and booked into Butte County Jail.
