Fat fight!

Foods to eat to help fight fat

While not eating foods that are high in calories, fat, sugar or salt can help you lose weight, there are some foods that you can eat that will actually help in fighting fat.

High-protein power: Protein takes a long time to leave the stomach and leaves you feeling satisfied longer. Good sources include Greek yogurt (twice the protein of regular yogurt); quinoa (pronounced “keen-wa”) and tabouli (grains high in protein and fiber, but not calories and fat); eggs (keeps morning hunger down with 7 grams of protein and only 75 calories per egg); lean meat and fish.

Water warriors: Water-heavy foods—like watermelon, apples, grapes, raw veggies, salads and broth-based soups—make you feel full faster.

Cinnamon: Curb your appetite with the spice that can stabilize blood-sugar levels.

Green tea and coffee: The former stimulates metabolism with cate- chins and the latter with caffeine.

Beans: Garbanzos, pintos, kidney beans and so on are a great source of protein and fiber, low in fat and calories and you don’t need a lot to fill you up.
