Far out
Adventuring on the outskirts of Butte County
Most of us get that itch to leave city life behind this time of year, in search of respite, adventure and cooler environs. Luckily, here in Butte County, one needn't look far for such escape. For this package of stories, three CN&R staffers explored a few remote areas of the county, even if just for a day. What they discovered was a natural playground on the middle fork of the Feather River, Curtain Falls; a little-known lake and recreation area on the eastern outskirts, Sly Creek Reservoir; and a ghost town in Inskip and the peaceful waters of Philbrook Reservoir, both north of Stirling City.
Take a trip vicariously through us into the woods and the water and be sure to enjoy your summer!
