Facebook felon sentenced

Paradise man gets prison time for child porn production

On Friday (May 22), Jordan James Kirby, 23, of Paradise, was sentenced to 29 years in prison for production of child pornography and enticement of a minor.

According to a press release, between 2011 and 2013 Kirby (pictured) used various Facebook identities, posing as an agent for a modeling agency offering “thousands of dollars to girls for photographs of themselves in their underwear, bikinis, or various stages of undress.”

Once he received the photos he would use them to elicit sex acts from the victims, who were between the ages of 10 and 15. On March 6, Kirby pleaded guilty to two counts of enticement of a minor, three counts of attempted production of child pornography, and one count of attempted enticement of a minor.

The case was investigated by the FBI, the Paradise Police Department and the Butte County District Attorney’s Office.

“I appreciate the collaborative work with both the local and federal agencies that resulted in taking a predator off of the streets for the next 29 years,” Butte County D.A. Mike Ramsey said in a joint-agency press release.
