Enloe nurses reach accord
Registered nurses at Enloe Medical Center ratify three-year contract with hospital
The registered nurses at Enloe Medical Center recently voted to ratify a three-year contract between the hospital and 860 nurses affiliated with the California Nurses Association.
According to a press release from the union, the contract comes at a time when “some hospitals are demanding reductions in nurses’ workplace and economic standards.” The contract provides more paid time for a team of nurses, the Professional Performance Committee, to meet with management and advocate for patient-care issues. As for wages, the agreement provides an immediate 1.5 percent bonus for all registered nurses and additional increases of 3.75 percent over the next two years.
“The new contract is fair and reasonable and this supports the retention of experienced nurses,” said Pamela Stowe, a registered nurse with Enloe.
