Endorsements
Over the past few weeks, we’ve made voting recommendations regarding contested local races in the June 6 election: incumbent Perry Reniff for sheriff-coroner and Chico City Councilwoman Maureen Kirk for District 3 Butte County supervisor.
In only one other Butte County race does an incumbent face a challenger. Candace Grubbs has done a fine job as county clerk-recorder. Addressing concerns over the integrity of electronic voting, Grubbs has taken proactive steps in allowing the public to examine machines before they roll into polling places. We see no reason to use those machines to vote her out of office.
