Eat your pumpkins after Halloween
Don’t waste such a delicious fruit
Here’s a hypothetical situation: It’s the day after Halloween, and you’ve got a bunch of pumpkins sitting around. What do you do with them? Answer: bake a pie, of course. Don’t let these great seasonal fruits (yes, pumpkins are fruits) go to waste. If a pie is (understandably) beyond your culinary skills, you can still create something edible. Try baking the seeds (called pepitas). Rinse and dry the seeds, place them on a lightly greased baking sheet, sprinkle them with a dash of salt, and stick them in the oven at 350 degrees for 10 to 20 minutes (turn once) until golden.
