Much like our human children, we tend to think of our pets as exceedingly intelligent. However, with dogs, there’s evidence certain breeds are smarter than others. (A breed’s intelligence isn’t indicative of it being a good pet, though. So, those looking for a companion animal should do research on each breed’s behavioral traits.) Here are the top 10 breeds, as ranked by neuropsychologist Stanley Coren, author of The Intelligence of Dogs, based on assessments by dog-obedience judges who focused on the working and obedience aptitudes of 110 breeds.
