Dispensary wins appeal
North Valley Holistic Health wins code-enforcement appeal
Amidst all the drama and bad news surrounding medical-marijuana dispensaries lately, North Valley Holistic Health, which was located in Gasoline Alley just north of Chico, caught a ray of sunshine last week.
Robert Galia, who ran NVHH along with Andrew Merkel, was hit with code violations last year in his name regarding the dispensary. In August, he was found guilty, and on Nov. 10 that guilty verdict was overturned.
For his part, Galia (pictured) is happy to have that behind him. He’ll be opening a hemp store on Third Street in downtown Chico later this year.
In other medical-marijuana news, Citizens for Compassionate Use, also spearheaded by the folks at NVHH, has gathered more than 12,000 signatures opposing the Butte County Board of Supervisors’ decision to ban dispensaries. They planned to drop them off with the county on Tuesday (Nov. 22), after press time.
