Dispensaries busted
More than 100 officers serve search warrants
If you get your pot at a Chico dispensary, you might need to look elsewhere for your medicine.
The Chico Police Department and Butte County Sheriff’s Office concluded a weeks-long investigation into possible violations on Wednesday (June 30) with search warrants for eight alleged storefront medical marijuana dispensaries as well as private residences with links to those operations, according to a CPD press release.
More than 100 officers fanned out from two dozen law-enforcement agencies to the Chico-area locations and seized computers, financial records, marijuana and other evidence that will be sifted through to determine if there is evidence to press criminal charges. A total of 19 warrants were served during the sweep, but no arrests had been made by press time.
