Disc golfers’ course of action: referendum
Chicoans coalesce to reverse City Council’s decision
Laying to rest questions about their initiative, members of Chico’s disc-golf community have organized a referendum effort seeking to overturn the City Council decision to ban their sport in Upper Bidwell Park.
Around 120 volunteers are set to circulate petitions, confirmed Lon Glazner, a local blogger and disc-golf advocate. Coalescing in cyberspace at www.restorediscgolf.com and Facebook, the group is planning a signing drive Monday (Dec. 1) from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Madison Bear Garden downtown.
“I think we’re in really good shape,” Glazner told the CN&R. “It’s about getting the petition [worded] right and going out to do the work.”
