On Tuesday (Dec. 11), the Butte County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted several emergency ordinances related to Camp Fire recovery efforts.

The first relaxes zoning regulations through Dec. 31, 2020, to allow those displaced by the fire to occupy RVs and residential accessory structures. It allows for up to two RVs per residential lot, which must hook up to water, sewer and power. Use permit requirements will be waived for child care and educational facilities that have relocated temporarily.

The second ordinance prohibits property owners from disturbing or removing debris until a hazardous materials inspection has been performed, either by the California Office of Emergency Services or a licensed contractor approved by the county.
