Dealing with dry winter skin
Tips for keeping skin soft and moist in winter

When the cold weather hits, we break out blankets and turn up the heat, and it feels good. But low temps and low humidity, combined with furnace-sourced heat, can dry the skin. Tips for staying moist:
Up the humidity: Portable humidifiers or those built into heating systems put moisture in the air that your skin and hair will absorb.
Use oil-based moisturizer: Ointments and heavy creams help keep water in the skin when the humidity takes a dip.
Bathe less frequently: Frequent hot showers or baths strip the skin of natural oils, so cut back a bit and use warm water instead of hot.
