Cyber-suitor jailed for sex with minor

Chico Police Department detectives arrested a 35-year-old man last week for sexual intercourse and oral copulation, sodomy and sexual penetration with a minor—all felonies.

According to a CPD press release, Draco John Flama—a transient from Kansas who also goes by the name Jesse Earl Davenport—had been observed in downtown Chico in the early morning hours of Oct. 8 engaging in what appeared to be inappropriate contact with a 17-year-old female, which both parties initially denied.

After an investigation that included conversations with the minor and her mother, it was determined that the victim, a Chico resident, had met Flama on the Internet when she was 16 and had become involved in a sexual relationship with him since his recent arrival in Chico.

Flama (pictured) was arrested and booked into Butte County Jail.
