Crime alert
The Chico Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit recently released its arrest results after one year in operation. The unit’s main focus is on street-level criminal activity and searching for wanted persons. The officers involved—one sergeant and four officers—also do compliance checks, or searches, on people who are either on probation or parole. Here are the statistics from March 16, 2006, to March 15, 2007:
